What damage can be caused to the wheel of a car, with no spigot ring on for the alloy wheel?

All above answers rubbish, the spigot ring is there to give support to the wheel and to ensure the wheel is centred to the hub. without a ring the wheel studs/bolts would be under approx. 4x the load they are designed for. studs snap, wheel falls off, you die! get the picture. for your own good and that of others please just buy some(£5-10) per wheel. Not worth being a cheap-skate!

The spigot ring is there to make it easier to place the wheel onto the studs. It has a tapered edge, as does the iner face at the centre of your alloy wheel. Once the wheel nuts are tight it serves no purpose.
the wheel will get looser untill it falls off i belive this to be a serious problem but hey do wot ya like baby aint my car
it will get looser because the alloy is softer than the bracket and it will ware away slowly
