Dude, if you want power, get a v8 already. You cant make power burning rice! But no it shouldn't hurt nothing.
i own a repair shop, and yes it is true ,it can damage it,it has happened i a few cases but it usually don't hurt them, but in some cases it has been known to make them go out,so just know that it could go out on it,good luck i hope this help,s.
Only if your really unlucky, I've had a K&N on a Saxo, and a Piper Cross on a Corsa C and never had any problems, just make sure you have the filter in the coolest part of the bay, for best effects.
Its a bit more involved than the general question and answer.
Pre-oiled filters had been found that had far too much oil on them when supplied new and the instructions for oiling filters wasn't very clear especially on K + N units. This meant that excess oil was present which was lifted from the filter media passed into the airflow and onto the Air Mass Meter (AMM). If this unit has a hot wire system the oil was burnt onto the wire which alters the relative Temp Resistance curve which is used to tell your ECU the air flow. Which then gives the correct fuel mixture. Hence the more oil on the filter the more the wire gets coated the higher amount of fuel injected for a given amount of air = low MPG, crap performance and can burn out the AMM.
Take care when reoiling the filter and you should be ok.
dodgeman is an idiot
If you don't fit an air filter it will eventually damage the air flow sensor as dirt in the air gets baked onto the hotwire part of the sensor and will give incorrect readings.
No it wont hurt it.
yes it can, also can send your emissions sky high, you will find out when she goes for test!!
