Rust on cars?
Answers:
Sand it back and put rust stop on it followed by filler and paint
depends where it is if near a support you wil have to cut it out and a new piece welded in if not then you can get a tin of rust eater from any car store then repaint
Rub back localy ,start with 180 grit emery/wet&dry til bare metal is seen &surface rust smooth with rest of area .
Rub down again with 600 grit wet&dry blending surrounding paintwork into bare metal area. When whole area feels smooth you cant feel it at all treat metal {was rusty} area with a rust treatment,
Armourall,or the likes. When fully dry light rub back with a used bit of 600 grit wet&dry.
Mask with masking tape & newspaper arround rubbed down area not to tight leave some good paint surface arrond whole area exposed.
Prime wih aerosol grey primmer in between 3or4 coats leave to fully dry. back to 600 grit take off masking rub down whole area again till you cant feel it . Make sure it is fully dry ,colour match paint this code will be on your VIN plate ,under bonnet or under carpet drivers side floor.
Mask area again spray it in .More coats more distance rather than one close. ok thats it im bored. Not for a really nice car but a few years old it will look 100% better but not perfect.Perfection is for proffessionals not DIY. But cost.
Hope it helps.
The only way to make a very good job is to sandblast the rust spot. Then you apply vinlewash primer, let dry. Then lacquer primer two to three coats, Let dry in between. Putty if necessary, let dry. Sand, lacquer primer, paint.
