What does an electronic immobiliser in a car look like?

Answers:
THE IMMOBILIZER IS THE SYSTEM USED TO PREVENT CAR THEFT. IT HAS MANY PARTS THAT LOOK DIFFERENT. DEPENDING ON THE VEHICLE IT MAY HAVE A MODULE, RECEIVER, ANTENNA, RELAY, FUSE, RESISTOR, AND A SPECIAL KEY. THE KEY WILL HAVE A "CHIP" IN IT (USUALLY CONCEALED UNDER THE RUBBER HEAD) THAT SENDS A RADIO SIGNAL TO THE MODULE ALLOWING THE FUEL PUMP AND/OR STARTER TO WORK. IF THE MODULE DOES NOT RECEIVE THE SIGNAL FROM THE SPECIAL KEY IT WILL NOT ALLOW THE CAR TO START.
usually under the air filtre in a long tube on european cars. On Mercs and most german cars it is a digital software code within the engine management box ( next to clutch)
