Will a suzuki 1200 bandit motor fit a gsxr 750 J chassis?
Answers:
Do it man.
Sounds like a great project!
I put a 350 YPVS in my RG250 Mark 3 once.
Flying..
Sure, somebody can always make it fit if it needs.
Not sure about this one as i think the 750j was the short stroke engine and the 1200 bandit is a variant of the GSXR 1100 which is a long stroke engine, meaning the rocker cover may clash with the frame rails. Apart from that i believe the engine mounting points are the same.
Oh yes
Just a bored out 1100 gsxr motor .
The donor engine for a street fighter 7/11.GSXr 750 frame 1100 motor.
You should bore that out to 1260 anyway.
No great probs.
it will go in there absolutley no problem and line up perfect.BUT,in order to adjust valve clearences you have to take the whole motor out again as being a slightly taller motor you cant remove the cam cover! do all the head work first,ie, complete de coke, check valve stems for wear, new valve stem oil seals and perfect adjustment. tis then good for a year of head banging full throttle lunacy! dont mess about, take it out to 1340cc! OR 1500cc with a stroker crank!!
