My husband has just bought a Subaru Impreza WRX Sports Wagon, I don't know much about cars but I know I like that one!!
He has always had BMW's or Mercs and wanted a change. It is ridiculously fast and within your budget brand new. I like the look of it, I know most people say they are ugly but for performance there is nothing better for less money!
Another car he used to own was an Audi TT which was given to me after 6 months as he got another, again that is a fast car, not nearly as fast as the subaru but I must admit, looks better.
If you go second hand, Mercedes do a great line in sports coupe's?

You could probably pick up a practically new Alfa Romeo Brera..they're just a little less cliched than the usual stuff and they look great. Don't buy a Mazda MX unless you're a hairdresser.
