Have you thought about taking a trip where someone does the driving for you? I did Ireland with a GO Travel Vaction tour bus. My husband had been ill and I was afraid to drive. I had a great time! Most of the roads in Ireland are pretty narrow.

You could be heading towards Agoraphobia. Basically, a fear of the outside world, in general. Perhaps you should seek professional advice. In the mean time, maybe you should cut back on driving altogether. Being that uncomfortable behind the wheel of a car should be enough of a clue to stop driving, before something terribly irreversable occurs.
