I have a 24v mag mount breakdown/recovery light unit. It runs on 12v but is slow. Can it be made to speed up?

Answers:
There's a reason it said 24v on it. 12 being half of 24 means it can only ever run at half speed/brightness. It is possible to get a transformer to up the voltage, but you'd be cheaper getting the right (12v) lamp.
Yes.

Put on a 24 volt alternator with all the extra electrical stuff you'll need it to be TOTALLY seperate from the rest of the vehicle. Put 2 batteries in SERIES not parallel to get the 24 volts.

Good Luck
conect it to 24V
You could also try to find the 12v ballast for it.
I'm not an electric wizard but I do recall from high school 30 years ago something about "parallel" and "series" circuitry. I think you can hook two 12V batteries and run whatever it is you have on the required 24V voltage. And then again, they have transformers of all denominations which will put you in the same seat at 24V too!
change the motor for rotation and the lamp for the light that the only way to change it other than running on 24volt system
