3g/wifi and data costs?

i have a pda phone with 3G and wifi functions. if i connect to the web using wifi (at home or elsewhere), do i avoid data charges? i'm paying bundle data charges which i assume are for 3G use only. thanks

Answers:
Yes u do waver data charges as it works like say a bluetooth connection but thats if u either live near someone within a radius os someone with a wifi modem and no security or maybe a wifi web cafe etc. The bundle charges u are buying are only for when u conect using gprs
try t-mobile. i get web and walk pro. entitles me to 2gig of internet usage for £10 a month. covers 3g/ gprs and wi-fi at home.
Wifi is something that is completely seperate from the cellular network, therefore it would be completely impossible for you to be charged by your service provider for using wifi. The only case in which you pay for wifi is if you are purchasing a lisence to use operator owned wifi hotspots, such as a t-mobile hotspot, etc. If that's the case its' a flat montly rate you subscribe to.
Yes I agree T mobile is better
