Why have Samsung decided against having MP3s as message tones?
The D600 will allow an MP3 file as a ringtone, but there's 10 pre-set message tones, and so an MP3 can't be used. Is there no firmware update that will allow an MP3 message tone? It really lets the phone down cos it has everything else.

because its freaking annoying. A short tone is all that is required for the notification of a message, 5 minutes of "Paris to Berlin" everytime someone receives a text makes you want to stab the phone owner.

does the d600 have aprofiles option? i used to think my e600 didn't have the option but you can change the mms alert in each profile to 'special' which allows you to pick an mp3. you've just gotta remember to keep using it in that profile
i have a d600 and i use mp3 for ring tones go to menu click on file managerthen musicpick your tone i have loads of mp3 in there anscroll down to set as you then have 3 options ringtone caller id alarm tone just select ringtone or do as i do caller id for different people i have different tone so i know who calling without taking it out my pocket so if i don,t wanna speak i don,t answer oopps sorry just realised u said message tone not ringtone well you could look on the samsung website to see if there is any soft ware for this its a pain bout message tones as they are all so naff
Yea it`s annoying how something so good as the d600 can be ruined by something so stupid. Unfortunately you cannot put other tones just the ones already on the phone.
Why is it the North americans can call locally for free (landline or mobile), but the British cant?
