i also live in liverpool, and i fit sat systems in pubs and clubs so that they can show Prem games without being robbed ff sky. The best sysem for football is ART which as the previous fella said is on Hotbird 13degrees East. This system can be configured to suit your needs, ie if you want it cheap you buy a cheap box. If you want a good box with HD you buy one of them. Simple as that!you just make sure the box is compatible with the network you need for the sat network you are accessing. For example ART works on ViaAccess cam so you need a box compatible with this. Any more questions email me if you like.
I have euro sat. system. I watch a lot of free foreign programmes. There is very little in English. If you like sport, you can get plenty on hotbird 13deg. east, inc prem. football live, but you have to buy a smart card for that. Email me if you have further questions. No HD, maybe if you pay for premium channels.
You may be able to get foreign providers, but I doubt that you will get many english channels (i know that Canal Sat in France only has 5 english channels)
Also, you may be stuck with sky (contract etc.)
