How do you record a digital tv channel on your vcr when your television has the freeview 'built in'?
I have a pansaonic plasma televsion with built in freeview digital television. Normally with the aerial or wky box etc you lik your box to the vcr and then your vcr to the tv, but when the digital is already 'built in' to the tv how do you record it on the vcr?!?!?!
Answers:
It shouldmanswer this in the manual that came with the TV
so.RTFM!!
anyway, apart from that.
the Normal 21 pin scart is an input and an output device, although most applications only need them to be used in one direction.
most TV's with a built in digital facility will have the output from the scart socket activated, and a full scart lead connected from the TV to the VCR will allow the TV to send to the VCR as well as allowing the TV to receive from the VCR
Unless you have a very new and rare free-view tuner built into your VCR you can only record free-view by connecting a eurosocket (SCART) from your TV back into your VCR. Your "user manuals" should tell you what connections to use. This will allow you to record the channel that your TV is set too. It will not let you watch another programme or switch off the TV while you record a programme on your VCR. (Similar to the SKY setup for vcr/tv) The only way you can record free-view directly without compromising what you want to watch on your TV is to purchase a "Free-view set top box" dedicated to your VCR and use a separate Aeriel to connect to the TV and VCR. Of course, you will still not be able to do full timer recordings as the VCR cannot change the settings of the "Free-view set top box".
if your tv has scart output then you can record but to my knowledge is only the Lg tv the has that scart output.
