32" HDTV. Which is best?

Hi, I'm looking to buy a 32" HDTV. Which brand generally makes the best quality ones? I've heard sony are good but I'm really not sure. How much will a good one cost?

Thanks.

Answers:
i own a 42" panasonic plasma hdtv.. the picture was nicer when compared to the other brands.. samsung, lg, sony, hitachi, toshiba, etc etc

your best bet is to go to a major electronic store and take 15 mins or so loooking at them..
They sell one at woolworths for like £400 supposed to be the lowest price going at the moment for a 32" hdtv tele so why not go ave a look its good quality aswell and they have other options at low prices aswell. Or maybe try typing in the company which you prefer and see if they have a lower price tv to suit you.
I don't think Sony are the best. They rely on their reputation and their 'trendiness'. I know several people who have had Sony products which have been consistently reliable. They are OK at first but break after a period of time. There are other better, or equally good, brands that are not as overpriced.
Samsung, Hitachi, Panasonic and LG are alternatives. Your best bet is to go into a store and see which design and picture quality you like and then try to find it cheaper on the internet. It'll be £600-700 for a 32". Try this website too:

a good name doesnt mean its a better tv.many of the insides of tvs are made in the same place.its only the shell which is differant.you will get the same warranty on all tvs,so my advice is shop around and pick the one that looks the best.
LG. nuff said.
i`m thiking of a toshiba 32 regza hd for £578.80 it`s got 2xHDMI connectoins from sound and vision
If you are not worried about how small (Thin) the unit is I would go for a large screen CRT HDTV (A normal 'old style' TV or the rear projection ones). CRT TV's are a reliable and proven technology, cheaper than the Plasma/LCD counterparts and the HD experts believe they give the finest quality picture out of the three and the longer life/bigger viewing angle. Another benefit is because of the CRT it's easier and cheaper to produce the higher resolution 1080i picture.

The only downside is their size (Though all new CRT's are 'slimeline' but no where near as thin as Plasma/LCD) and they do use slightly more power. All this is the same for rear projection CRT's as well. JVC/Toshiba and a few other big manufacturers make them.
I am going for Samsung le32r74bdx Have seen good reviews and sell from 650 to 849 Jogn Lewis is *49 but gives 5 years warranty

That looks good
Don't know if it helps, my advice is to take a good look around and see whats on offer. I have just purchased at 32" Acoustic Solutions LCD TV from Argos at £399.99 and am very impressed. I have added a goodmans HDMI DVD player (£49.99 again from Argos) for upscaled playback from ordinary DVD's. Excellent.
