Handset number?

My girlfriend gave me an old handset for my sim, but I want to register it to me using the handset identification number, but she doesn't have the paper work because it was given to her by her ex. does anyone know how I can find out the ID number of the handset?

Type *#06# into your handset and the IMEI number will be displayed or look under the battery the IMEI number is usually there.
if its a voda sim just use *#100# and dial your number comes up if it another network and your sim is working in the phone and has credit on ring another phone making sure you have caller id sent set first then if you rang a landline do 1471 vralah. your number is there just ring it and see on o2 look in your contacts list and under my number your number is there . ooppps sorry got confused thought you meant your number not your ime number just press *#06# THEN SEND YOUR IME NUMBER COMES UP OR TAKE YOUR BATTERY AND SIM OUT AND LOOK UNDER THERE IT SHOULD BE PRINTED THERE
