Would you want to convert your video tapes into DVD (digital media) and how much would you pay for it ?
Answers:
a standard charge that you give to convert those videos to either dvd or vcd or miniDvd (not how old the tape is) is $10, the least.
i sense you're going to put up a business similar to mine - transfers videos from any tape to a cd, edit and author videos, so i guess depending on your capacity, it's really up to you what price you're going to charge.
clear? clear!
i paid £15 dvd to tape
i got mine done for a tenna
but i cant remember where from sorri bt thats the price to aim for and DO NOT go into "jessops" because they charge loadz
good luck finding a cheap place :)
I do this so the video DVD can be used and shared. It is also easier to copy on your computer to send to friends and family. In the future the type of cassette you are currently using may become obsolete. Many new camcorder are using hard drives and mini DVD. It easy to DIY so I wouldn't pay, as long as you have the time.
I want to do this to send a family video to the states as they cant play tapes recorded using the PAL system so need to download to DVD. Local puter shop says i need a TV adaptor for my PC to copy VHSC tapes to PC initially and then to DVD. Cost about £15 but then the board needs to be installed in PC so cant say what final cost would be.Hope this helps. Good luck.
Been archiving all of my old video tapes, got rid of all the ones I don't need but still got about 200.Mainly old sci fi shows like Blakes 7 ,Dr Who stuff like that and loads of music I recorded of MTV and VH1 when they were free channels many years ago.
I use a SEG dvd recorder and hook up my Toshiba vcr to the scart lead and connect the other scart on the dvd to the tv so I can see what's playing..THe dvd player cost nothing cos I inherited it the only outlay are the dvds which cost under thirty pounds for a cake of one hundred.Once I get them all on dvd I'm gonna then put them on a massive hard drive ( via pc ) and connect it to my plasma..Instant home entertainment..Why should I spend a fortune and replace all these old shows with new repackaged dvds when I've already got them on video and can convert them to dvd ..
Easiest and most cost effective for straight transferal is get yourself.or borrow.a DVD recorder/Player. Plug your VCR into that via the RCA (red/yellow and white) plugs and record all the tapes onto the hard drive of the DVD recorder FROM the VCR. Then you can transfer all the footage on to DVD-R discs.
Be aware that you do loose a little bit of quality doing this.but hardly worth worrying about as long as you have a decent VCR and DVD recorder.
Not only do you achive what you are after doing.but you get a DVD recorder too!! Then you can ditch the VCR!!
Get a DVD with a good size harddrive.80gig or more is gonna be just fine
