Is there a device on the market that over rides withheld phone numbers?

I am getting nuciance phone calls, but the numbers are showing witheld on my caller display. I live in the UK.

Answers:
If you phone BT (or whoever your with) you can ask them to put a block on withheld numbers from calling. When someone rings you with held an autoated message will say.

"sorry, but the person you are trying to contact does not receive calls from withheld numbers, please redial without withholding your number".

If your friends are exdirect and want to call you, they must call 1470 before your number.

Yes.well there is on my phone anyway. When I dial 1517 I am given the numbers. You could also complain to your phone company if you make a note of the timings they will intervene.
ask your telephone company if they offer Annonomous Call Rejection or blocked caller rejection. I have that and in order for someone to call me they have to unblock their number or dont call me at all. I love it. Even telemarketers cant get through unless they show their number.

It's worth the 3.00 I pay per month.
yes, there is!

my dad often tells me to not answer the phone if it is withheld, since we often get phone calls throughout the day and people on the phone asking to speak with my dad, we wonder who was really calling. They called at day when he was out or at work and even when they asked for a best time to call back, they didn't but since we have stopped answering them we hardly get any withheld calls now, i think it was someone anonymous trying to get hold of our details over the phone!
