Is there any way of getting rid of mould on a washing machine, in the tray where you put the detergent?
Answers:
Ummm.bleach.
Thats what the "tray" is for.
Use deluded bleach on it! Should take it right off! Be careful with bleach unless you have used it before! If you haven't, ask your mom or some other adult female for instructions!
You can usually take the tray out and scrub it, check for a release button in the tray.
Leave the tray open after washing and let it dry.
Yeah what the first person said. But if theres mold there, its probably in other places that you cant get to as well. maybe time for a new washer, mold can get pretty nasty.
No way while its on the washing machine you have to do what i did and that is to take it off (most can come off like a draw ie you lift it up when the draw is almost fully open) then soak it for a couple of hours the longer the better then use a scourer to rid the gunge. It would be a few months before it got like that again.
scrub with some bleach ,use a toothbrush for the awkward to use places. and incase from bleach runs into the machine do a quick rinse before using with clothes.
or use washing liquid and warm water.
Lift the whole tray and pull forward; it pops out and you can put it in the sink and give it a good scrub with a pot cleaner and some cream clean stuff.
You can then clean the inside bit on the machine with a toothbrush (ideal if you've just fallen out with a partner- lol).
Then i'd give it a rinse through with bleech to get any other goop thats in the pipes.
JJ.
Take it out and wash it
green alchol and bleach weill kill mold spores
Wash it after ever wash and dry it before putting it back.
I simply take the tray out of the machine and scrub it under the tap. I would think that most washing machines have removable soap powder trays
If the tray comes out, put it through the dishwasher. Works fine. If not, or if there is still mold in other areas of the machine, use a 10% bleach solution to clean it.
