How do I find out who is calling me on my phone without ringing them back? I have the number.?

call the number from an other phone.. then the person not see that you did ringing back.
Give me the number and I'll ring it for you.
you could always do a search on the net for the number (ideal if u think it's a business calling u!)
does 1471 exist where you are? If not,.use another phone
Here in the US, we have something called "reverse white pages". I don't know if they have it in the UK, but if they do, you may have to pay for it. If it's a cell phone number, you may not be able to get it unless the calls are breaking some law.
If you call them back with 141 infront of their number they cant find out who rang them.
if you think it's a company or something then tap the number into the google search bar and it usually will tell you what the number is connected to? OR.you could always put 141 in front of the number, ring them, listen to who it is, then hang up! they will never know it's you as 141 withelds your number!

Get one of your friends to ring the number and when they answer she just asks who they are and then tells them "Sorry I dialled the wrong number"

get caller id that show the name too.
if it is a land line number, look it up in the phone book, it will take a long time though to look through every number. just hope their name begins with an A not a Z!
Dial 141 in front of the number, they will receive the call but not see who it is from. You might recognise the voice or if it is a company then they will answer with the company name. I know u said u didn't want to ring them back but this is an alternative to try to find out who it is, as your no wont show up. U can get someone else to talk to them.

I found it really useful.
Call information (411) and tell them you want a reverse look-up, give them the number and they'll give you the info that comes up on their screen.
I don't call anyone back unless they leave me a message.
try bt.com. just put the number in and see what comes up /
