cant make calls or send text messages on my mobile, only can recieve. Plenty of credit and theres a signal also the battery is full. All I get when trying to make a call is "the number you have dialled has not been recognised" Cant even ring customer care and they are not responding to my email. Any ideas?

Try ringing customer care from a land line. They should be able to check your phone out for you while you speak to them.
take your sim card out and wipe with a dry soft cloth dust on the sim can effect the way your handset works with the network i work for a mobile phone company also ring from a landline as they will need you to check things on your phone
Firstly don't forget to add the area code first.
Remove sim card, replace card and restart your phone.
Take the phone to any phone shop a simple test by them will establish the fault if any.
