Why are freephone numbers not availiable on mobile phones?
Answers:
What is a "freephone" number? Do you mean you want to give your mobile a toll-free number? Some companies may allow it, but the billing is tricky, since most cellphone plans don't charge for long distance.
Freephone numbers are not free. They are charged back to the company you are ringing.
Due to the costs of mobile phone calls, these are excluded meaning instead of dialling 0800 xxx xxx, you have to drop the first 0 and dial 800 xxxxxx.
because the mobile does not allow the 0800 entry instead it can only read 800 when pervents it being freephone. I reckon it is just a rip off basically and that they could do it if they wanted to.
they are, and you can ring them, but you have to pay. Freephone numbers are part of the BT company, and only accessible as freephone from a BT line.
