4 broken TVs in my flat, 2 most recent this weekend, one a year and a half old, the other newer?
Answers:
it is possible to have a problem with the socket, but the likely answer is not, domestics circuits are protected with fuses and most likely an RDC, if you use your laptop on this socket and it has been fine until this point then I would say that the problem is not the socket, as computers are far more sensetive to power problems than a television set, perhaps u have a problem with moisture or condensation. I think in all honesty that you have had some bad luck with your sets.
get insurance
My friend used to stop watches and clocks just by being near them, maybe its a personal electricity thing.
get an electrician round pronto! def sounds like wiring trouble to me
Get a surge protector to go on that plug point - as soon as possible!
It sounds like there is too much ampage getting to the TV's, get an electrician to check, dead simple and shouldnt cost you much if anything.
Sounds like you have to much power Phone the power company and get it sorted cause if you don't it will cause a fire.
Please phone them it will save your life.
sounds like u got a spirit there not liking the tv much
You are either unlucky or you may be experiencing power surges. Ask you neighbours if they have been having problems. Buy a surge protector (Socket) for your laptop, they are always advisable
Could be spikes or surges coming down the wires through the house, maybe that socket is connected to something it shouldn't be (inside the walls or whatever). Definitely worth calling up your landlord and have it checked out by a professional, if it turns out to be the cause of your broken TV's then I'd ask your landlord for some sort of compensation (ask nicely at first.)
Therre is voltage fluctuation.
Please put in a voltage stabliser into the MCB
Sonds as if you have an open neutral condition in the house, find an electrician and explained what is going on.
