Why are FREEPHONE telephone numbers never free on Pay As You Go.?

Answers:
First of all, freephone numbers are charged to contract customers as well. The reason for this is that the company you are trying to contact is happy to pay for cheap landline numbers, however, if you can imagine getting a load of phone calls from mobile users (and you know how much some network providers charge), the kind of costs it would be could possibly cost more than the sales that they can generate to pay for the freephone number in the first place. At least with landlines, you can get a rough idea of how much each call is going to cost.

Hope this helps.
