Will a samsung lcd tv bought in America work in the UK? Many thanks Scott?

Answers:
GOOD LUCK..

Most Samsung video products designed for use in the U.S. use a broadcast system called NTSC. The NTSC system is primarily used in North America, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, parts Central America, and parts of South America. Most other countries, including all European countries, use different systems (PAL or SECAM), which are not compatible with NTSC. So, most Samsung products designed for use in the U.S. will not work directly in most countries outside the U.S. However, you can buy an external converter that will convert the PAL or SECAM signal into a signal your American Samsung device can use. See below.
PAL and SECAM Converters
You can buy converters that will convert PAL signals or SECAM signals to NTSC signals your U.S. Samsung product can use. Although we can not recommend any converter models, you can find these converters on the Internet by entering either pal to ntsc converter or secam to ntsc converter into your search engine.

Important: Most countries outside the U.S. have voltage and frequency standards that differ from the U.S. Before you use your Samsung device in a country outside the U.S., make sure that the voltage and frequency in that country are compatible with your device. If they are not, you will need to buy a voltage converter to run your Samsung device off a wall socket in that country.

All Samsung TVs sold in the United States require 110/120 volt, 60 cycle (60 Hertz) AC current.
wondering is spot on-most modern tv's have dual tuners-some even have three- to deal with ntsc (national television systems commitee) europes pal (phase alternating line) and frances secam-but the vital thing is the voltage-in the USA its 110 volts over 60 hz-here in the uk its 240 volts over 50 hz.whatever you do-don't get this wrong!-but as with tuners in some tv's the voltage is switchable-but check first.
Check the voltage first, 240 V for UK then check if the TV set has
multi-system, if both matches it wil.
not if is not a multy system
I think you will find your voltage is different and also your tuner will be set at a different cycle
