Should I buy a Nintendo GameCube?
Not really interested in playing mindless shooters etc., am more interested in pure, original gameplay - is a GameCube the right choice?

Heres the deal short and sweet. The Wii is coming out here right before Thanksgiving. The Wii is goin to be backward compatable with all the Nintendo games from the past. Meaning it will play Gamecube games, and you will be able to download and play N64, SNES, and NES games. Since the Cube is kinda gettin old like everyone else said, you can upgrade with the futire and be ready for whaever comes the WII way. And you'll still be able to play your gamecube games. Also, the cube games will expect to drop in price to, so that'll be something to look forward to once it comes out. Id go with a Wii at this moment for now on. Oh and real quick if your worried about that Wiimote and tryin to use it to play all the other old games dont worry, Nintendo doesnt sho it often but there will be a regular controller that looks alot liek the PS controller so you can play your games including Wii games like regular! Hope that gives you some thought
not if you want to get laid.
No get the PS3 when it gets released. you will find a great game to suit your needs.
Yer should be kewl
can i have a go
Should be cheap now. Some great exclusive games too - I recommend Eternal Darkness. Plus you can get multi-platform games, such as Prince of Persia and SSX.
No, buy a Nintendo Wii then it arrives, but buy GC games now while they are cheap (and quite rare!) because you can play them on it!
You can even use the GC joypads and other peripherals (like the Donkey Konga bongos etc.)
Its what I'm doing until PS3 comes down to a level where ordinary working people can afford it and not spoiled brats with too much money and not enough social skills to get a girlfriend.
go outside!!!
I like GameCube. Not that I have one, but I've played other people's. But if you ever get a girl friend, if you pause the game to talk to her, it will still be there later, but if you have to finish your game first it may well be your last date.
If a little kid is gonna play it yes. If a teenager is playing it PS2 or PS3 (whenever it comes) if you r older get an xbox 360 bc they arent gonna make n e more games for xbox by november
no no no no no, i know u think going retro is fun. its fun for all of two minutes then you see your pal playing ps3 and realise that you no longer want your game cube , but a piece of action thats going down next to you.
i too though it would be fun playing retro games, even the ones that i remember as a kid and grew up on are no longer as fun as i remember because advances in technology are just to far a jump. I f any game still appeals its mario but thats it or golden axe for the mega drive
I love my GameCube. It's been a while since I've played on it but there are some really excellent games. Super Mario Sunshine will provide entertainment for a very long time (I've not completed it after years) and Crazy Taxi is awesome!
Have a bash at it
Only if there are specific games you want to play on it. I bought one soley to play Star Wars Rogue Squadron (there are two for Gamecube), also got Waverace and Metal Arms: Glitch in the System (very good and funny game! Is also available for PS2 but is reportedly not as good); well worth it to play these games as the console itself was so cheap, less than the price of a PS2 game, plus I got money off a couple of games which I bought at the same time.
Don't buy one unless you can do a deal to get some money off accessories and/or games bought with it!
Probably should wait for the Nintendo Wii. By the way, there are many quality choices among PC games as well.
gc has some fantastic platform games for the younger gamer as they are well presented and simple to play. as an older gamer i would suggest xbox 360 played in hd (fantastic) or wait for ps3
yea but its getting kinda old
there are still good games for it like super smash bros. melee
and nba street
no
Gamecube sucks, I already own 2 because my first one broke(bought one at launch for 199.99)!! Limited games that are actually good! So just buy a Xbox.
The Cube has lots of great first party titles, but it's lacking in third party support. I would wait for the Wii. It's backwards compatible with the Cube and you'll have access to new games as well (and it's going to be pretty cheap compared to the 360 and the PS3).
EDIT: Iron Monkey is right, Eternal Darkness kicks ***.
no wait for the wei or however you spell it.
Just wait for the Nintendo Wii coming out soon. It'll be able to play GameCube discs and brand new games in a whole new control. You can also download almost the whole library of Nintendo's classic games from the NES, Super Nintendo, and Nintendo 64. All of this for under $250!
There are many good reasons to buy a gamecube for you, I personally have one and love it but I think you may have more luck if you bought a PS2 and searched out the original games on that such as Psychonauts, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.
ofcourse not, you should save your money for the nintendo Wii, I think its comming out on november, plus your gonna be able to play gamecube games with it.
Yeah I think you should, The Gamecube is pretty cheap now and so are the old good games for it.
