Apple nano question- i got one today and i thought it's plug and play- why is it uploading all my music.?

. from my computer to the damn thing? I want to put on a selection not everything- i may fall alseep on the journey cos some of the music's too relaxing. The help feature is giving me dibby answers. Help please. How can i clear off everything and put on only what i want to be on there? And also- why the the earphones so massive that they drop out of the ears- anyone suggest any better ones that actually stay in the ear rather than dropping out every 2 seconds ..?

a good pair old headphones are the Sony in ear earbuds - fontopia I think they are called Sony MDR-EX71SL. They even come in naff white to go with your tacky IPod

if youd bought a USB MP3 player - just hook it up to to your PC and it should appear as a drive ont he PC, copy what ever you want either direction. easy backups, no problems when your Ipod gets nicked or dropped or wet or sulks. best of all the music can be recorded in Mp3 format devoid of any digital rights software that limits you to one player.
I know someone who had one and took it back because they're not that easy to use. You'd be better off with a Creative Zen Jukebox, they're pretty much plug and play, giving all the control to you.
There's a checkbox to the left of every song in your music library. If it's checked, your Apple mp3 player (iPod, Nano, Shuffle, whatever) will try to upload it.

Disconnect your Nano, then go through your library and uncheck the songs you don't want to upload to the Nano. Reconnect the Nano and it will (again) upload only the checked songs and delete any songs in the Nano memory that are not checked in the library.
U can't. Thats what all iPods do, iTunes uploads ALL the songs that are in ur library. The best thing u can do is create playlists (File>New Playlist) by simply dragging and dropping whatever tracks u want to hear in that specific playlist OR u could delete the tracks if they really annoy u that much..or just press skip man.
go to your ipod option and click the file that says music

check the box that says manual sychronice music or something like that .then to delete the music press control(Ctrl)-A(the letter)
and all your music should go blue then press delete

as for the earphone get the phillips ipod earphone
