How can one trace a mobile number to the owner and registered address?

i need to find out the address of who owns the mobile line.
Your probably gonna ask me why.well they guy has pulled a scam and needs to be soorted out.

Answers:
The only people that can is the police. No mobile dealers can do it nor customer services on mobile networks. They use a system that can track a person within one mile from thier current location but they would only use it in certian situations like if someone gone missing or kidnapped etc. Due to the data protection act no mobile network can realease infomation on a owner of a mobile number. All you can do is report it and take it from there.

U could chat up someone who works in a mobile shop, they have access to all the numbers on that particular network?? That or report it to the police who will then be able to get the info 4u
Unless the owner of the line opted in to a program that publicly lists cell phone number, you cannot find out who owns the phone number. If you report it to the police, they could.but they may not tell you.
You can't but the police can, contact trading standards and take it from there.
I'm not sure that a civilian can do that - however, if he has pulled a scam then report this to the police, give them the number and they can trace him.
You can't. The only thing you can do is to report him to the carrier network and the police.
the police qould be best or you can try googling it (the number u mite just be lucky enough to find his addy if he's published it
well that would be illegal!!

Big Brother is watching you!

report it to the police!
Check this out after you ever recieve a call like that hang up pick up the phone and press *57 and that will flag that call for a trace. The information will not be available to your self but the law enforcement only. This works on all phones weather its a cell, cable or home line!! I bet no one ever knew that. Pass it on!!!!!
One cannot. This is against the data protection act and cannot legally be disclosed to you. Try the police, if it's a mallicious call they might be able to liase with the mobile company.
