Apart from Ipod which higher capacity mp3 player can anyone recommend?
I have had a bad experience with Apple and my 60GB Photo model which is broken, so now want another player but not from Apple?

I have in Iriver 20GB . I used to have an Ipod but it kept breaking and the customer service is shite!
I bought an I river beacuse A its cheaper and B you can buy a ridiculous amount of songs for it from other sources ie napster hmv digital etc where as you are limited to itunes with an ipod. Also Iriver is made with the PC in mind so it is compatible with Microsoft Windows so you dont get the problems with an apple unit made for a pc which often occurs whin you mix the two. I know of plenty of people who have experienced similar p roblems. Obviously there are other players out there which are just as good but i chose an Irver for those reasons. I have had mine for 1 year now and had no problems. The biggest thing is cost Itunes prices stink. You can get so much more for oyur money if you opt for a different brand. I will never buy an apple again.
Creative do some good ones 60GB
Sony walkman, There fantastic!
creative zen or sony
Sony HD3 or greater I have had mine for over a year and love it
I have a Toshiba Gigabeat F20 which I use all the time in conjunction with Napster To Go and it does the job just fine. It is 20Gb but there are much larger ones such as 60Gb as well.
I have a Rio Carbon Pearl.
It is 5GB, (room for 1250 mp3 files, or 2500 wma files)
Its a lot smaller than the ipod, and handles wma and mp3 files, its also compatible with itunes, and when you connect it to a pc, it shows up on the computer as a drive where you can drag and drop files on to it. (handy for data files) So you can effectively use it as an external hardrive.
They are available from Dixons and on ebay. (I got mine for something like 60 pounds brand new)
Need more info on it visit www.rioaudio.com
I think theres SONY other than iPod. After some months or a year, Microsoft is releasing ZUNE, which is similar to iPod but i guess functions better than rival
