Why does the fuse keep blowing in the plug of my dvd recorder?
It is a panasonic & only 2 years old, never had a problem before
Answers:
It should be no more than a 3 amp fuse in a DVD recorder, if it's continually blowing there must be a fault (short) in the power supply unit. You need a specialist repairer or back to Panasonic. You MAY have a 2 year warranty.
Is it the right size fuse, a 5amp for a DVD
sounds like a short, take it to the repair shop
check the ratio of the fuse required..i.e:- it may only require a 3 amp fuse and you are using a 13 amp.not good.use the correct fuse and it should be ok
sounds like you get it as a bar gen, lol ha ha Chinese.
if you can open it out..look for any loose wires, connections before you take it anywhere..save you a few quid..sometimes your better off buying a new one ,argos etc..sure there dirt cheap these days anyway..
Fuses only blow if they are overloaded, either by demand ( not likely considering what you are using) or short circuit. Do not try to get round this by using ever stronger fuses, they will still blow if it is a short circuit. Good luck
I agree, check the manual for the correct fuse size. If that checks out OK then it sounds like there is something wrong with the DVD recorder (maybe a short circuit).
Be careful a faulty unit like this could cause a fire, unplug it from the power source when not attended.
Sound like a short circuit, first make sure the plug is wired correctly and does not have a fault or a bit of the blue wire touching the brown, ( brown to fuse) then check the cable in case it is frayed or broken, and if all is OK try looking inside to see if you have a wire that has come loose, if you are not keen on looking inside take it to an electrician.
make sure you're putting the right size fuse in and its the right way around
