Help with DVD recorder?

When recording films onto DVD does anyone else notice a slight deterioration in quality ? i,m recording from sky+ box and using normal scart leads, do the gold ones really make a difference?

Answers:
unless you are recording your movies at a 'standard' or better rate you will experience detoriation in picture quality. If you're trying to get 4 or 6 hours of movies onto a single disc, you will experience quality loss!!

If you want to obtain good quality - record at a good quality rate, use decent DVD discs and you could try gold plated scart leads
use the gold ones not the cheap nasty ones
i've got gold ones and the picture is far better from when i used then normal ones buy the best that you can afford .
