Answers:
There's like a million ways to tell in reality.
100Hz is rare and mostly only available on really expensive TVs or those big 50" TVs.
Firstly, is the distance from the front of the TV to the back more than say 7 or 8 inches? If so, it's not an LCD/Plasma.
In other words LCD/Plasma TVs are very thin and thus space-saving.
Here's an LCD/Plasma TV:

u have to take apart the tv and find the cable block and read it if it sayd 100Hz TV or LCD and plasma screen it a flat screen
duhh
lol
at the back of your t.v there is a little black sticker, it will say on there but it can be hard to find.
on the back of all TVs is a sticker with serial number and make.
Write it down and go to the make of your TVs website IE www.Sony.com for a sony TV then go to there support section and do a search with the serial number.
You should find all the details there.
Also if you TV LCD or plasma it will only be a few inch's thick if its got a standard deep back it will no dought be a CRT model and your light gun will work fine on this
it won't work on new tv's, mostly thin tvs like plasma and lcd
if your tv is over 4 yrs old then you're fine.
