Why do fast-food places always put so much ice in their drinks?
Answers:
So that they use less drink!
So that you don't get as much juice
Most places get their drinks delivered in solid form (powder) and have to water it down for people to drink e.g cola, lemonade.
Also it means they give you less for your money.
Next time you go, do what I do and ask for it with no ice and watch their faces!
What do you think costs less?
a. Frozen water
b. Any soft drink
Think about it.
That's how they make profits.
So that they dont have to give you so much juice!!! burger king are also bad for it!>xxx
So they don't have to put so much drink in it! Frozen water is cheaper than lemonade or cola! Ask them for less ice or none next time!
So you are pretty much paying for ice/water! Ask for no ice and you MIGHT get more drink if the machine doesn't have premeasured amounts it gives.
Water, even frozen, is far cheaper than Cola, fizzy orange, etc. So, if you must drink the filthy, sticky muck, ask for no ice, to get value for money!
I hate that so much. Like you say, if you don't guzzle it straight down it goes all watery. They do it so they use less drink and you think you are getting that ice cold crispness you wouldn't get from somwhere else. Just ask for no ice when you order it.
because some like it really coooool!!
Easy less drink will get into cup.
To save on juice obviously.
I used to work in Pizza Hut and we were trained to fill the glass with 1/3 ice because sometimes the drinks were at room temp and also it was unlimited refills so it stopped people drinking so much
It's obvious.less pop in the cup means less overhead spent
they have a ratio of ice to drink that is suppose to allow them to make you the perfect drink.lol..me I tell them NO ice please.tell them you want less ice
Obviously, so they don't have to put as much in the cups! If you took the ice out, you would probably have about one third of a drink. So basically, you're paying for two thirds of a cup of ice!!!
Think about it. How much do they charge for it? what percentage of it is water. Yes you are being ripped off, and not only that its not even a nice drink or good for you.. whose a sucker?
ice costs them less than coca cola
The ice displaces the drink so that they don't have to fill your glass/cup with as much drink therefore saving cash.
I always ask for no ice so I get a full glass of coke etc.
Ice is water and water is cheaper than the drink but charge you double.
To make a little bit of drink go a long way and so you can blame the rubbish tasting pop on siomething other than itself
to give you less drink, ask for no ice you dont have to have it, I do because I am usually cold enough.
Cause they want you to have cold drinks but yes I do agree with them putting too much ice is retarded.
Because they're penny pinching swines.
They do it so they don't have to put as much fizzy pop in your cup
to reduce quantity of beverage used so as to increase profits
yeh ok ask for no ice
but i have asked twice, once in KFC and one in McDs and both times they have gave me ice.
i really should say something but cnt be bothered
i think there ears are painted on
The reason is simple.
The syrup used to produce the drink is mixed at a ratio of 6:1 with carbonated water. So for every 10 ltr bag in box you get 70 litres of product.
Assume they pay £20 for each box and sell say half a litre at an average of £1, they make £120 for each box.
However if they dilute the contents with more ice then the profit margin goes through the roof.
The product is already chilled when it goes therough the carbonation process so more ice is not necessary.
my daughter and myself have just come back from mac donalds and she ordered a drink an got no ice at all in it!
when we asked why there was no ice they said its not their policy to put ice in drinks.
this is a lie cos the drive in maccies in the same town overload your drink with ice
To use less drink mix, all you have to do is ask for no ice.
that's all for money of course!
fast-food drinks are similar to the pubs beer!
more ice, less drink, best profit!
we are all stupid!
