if you are looking for a really nice meal then check out the GORE 109 queens gate its a hotel and has two restaurants, down stairs is for fish and the ground level is everything from steak to quails eggs. the prices are very fair . if Thai floats your boat you cant go wrong with the BLUE ELEPHANT at fulham Broadway, its one minute from the tube food is magic, service 10/10 decor is well hard to put in to words and give it justice. i will say it floated my boat, you can get a wow from anyone you take. p.s ask for an island table and check out the website

When you say West London do you mean west end?
If so they have loads of places to eat. Leicester Sq has like 15 resturants splattered all over the place.
If ur looking for a lively busy resturant try chiquitos. Its a mexican and the food is to die for and is also cheap.
If you want something a little more private there is a lovely french resturant just outside of the Sq.
