Any ideas on good restaurants in Istanbul? Especially around Taksim?

Try the Russian Restaurant * any cabbbie knows it, great old buliding , used to used by the Embassies in the area .very good food and frozen vodka.not that expensive either .good luck
I have only been to Turkish resteraunts near Kusadasi and Lady Beach. I was actually refused entrance there for NOT being Turkish. Thats racism that is.,
Try that huge hotel near the American Embassy.

Blooming expensive though.
