How do employers see film studies as a degree?
is it badly looked upon? what would a degree in film studies enable me to do in the future, career wise?
thanks in advance
Answers:
It depends on the job you are applying for. Jobs in the media seem an obvious choice. Jobs in healthcare, not so much.
I don't know what employers think, but I have also studied lots of films. I think my favorites are 'Highlander' and 'Shock' a very well made peice of cinematographic pornography. ACE!
Well all the fast food places seem to like it. ;-)
It's probably a leg up if you wanna go into film though
ya highlander was pretty cool, also liked the tv show.
they don't see it. you would have a very good chance of being unemployed or working in the uci.
you could go the whole hog and do film & philosiphy
The usual answer to this question is:
Would you like fries with your BigMac, sir?
This is a Mickey Mouse degree, and quite frankly a waste of four years of your education and life.
If you seriously want to get involved in the media in the future, it would be an idea to contact one of the big companies (BBC for example) and ask their advice on what entry qualifications they usually ask for.
