Second trial day with family?

i am applying for a nanny job and next week i am having my second trial day. i will be in charge of both girls from 9am - 7pm while their mum is in paris for the day. the girls are aged 22months and 3.5 years. does anyone know any good days out / activities around the Barbican area of london?

Answers:
hi, i live in barbican area, if nice day there is plenty of parks, or theres the musuem of london, which is free to get into, there isnt really much to do with 2 babies, i have 3 children, 6, 20 months and 6 months, all i end up doing is park or a trip to the library, or museum!
i wouldn't take them out they are young and taken them out is risky and hectic especially when you don't know them that well!!

DO indoor activities like cooking cakes, painting, colouring, games,
Yes, if i was you I would stay in or go to a park.

Make sure theres plenty of stuff to keep them entertained too!
You should check out this website www.whattodowiththekids.co.uk It's a great site for ideas and offers.
By the way this is not me advertising anything as I have nothing to do with the site.
I hope it gives you inspiration though and best wishes in the job.
The zoo is always a fun activity!
I'd keep it very simple - you want to show the family what a normal day would be like, and you don't want to have to be going on big trips all the time.

A trip to the park, and then activities at home is best.

Good luck - hope you get the job!
The kids sound to young for a crazy day out and plus you dont want to over do it.

Why dont you try taking them to a local park for a picnic if the weather is nice.

If the weathers not great you should take them to the aquarium on the southbank. Its really nice there and won't be to much of a busy day out for both you and the kids.

GOOD LUCK and remember there only young and are easily entertained.
as it will only be your second day i would take it easy,
you don't want to go somewhere you are not to sure of, IE, the loo for the kids you need to go somewhere that you know and where you will not get stressed out cause the little ones will know you just go for a little walk with them after all you don't know the kids and you don't know how they will be out and about,

i do hope it all goes well for you but take it easy and don't get yourself stressed out. good luck
Why not show how good you are by making supper for her when she gets back - but get the children to help!

Do very simple things like decorated biscuits, stuffed eggs - or a stew. They can help by putting ingredients in the pan, stirring and so on.

If you want some more recipes, check on things like the Tweeny website on BBC. There are some excellent ones that the children can do.

Have fun - and remember, you can hand the children over at 7pm. Us full-time mothers have to decide these sort of things every day - as will you if you get the job full-time!

Also remember that they may miss their mum, so make a drawing of a clock, showing when she will be back (although draw the time at 7:30 so that she will be early!)

Also check whether the mum expects the children to be in bed by the time she returns.
I would stay in and get to know them better at least you will be safe, just until you know what they are really like they might be monsters near roads etc.
no but good luck
