I really like editing audio and video, and I'd like to make a career out of it. However, I'm not sure what to major in. Currently, I'm majoring in communications, but I really would like to change majors. I'd like to edit and author DVDs and video clips along with some audio stuff, but I'd prefer not to have to do a ton of hours of math credit.

You need to check out the fine arts department, more specifically film. See what courses/majors are offered there. I know a bunch of people in art school in the film department, they learn to use Final Cut, all of that stuff. Not all schools offer that kind of major, though.
Multimedia or Mass Communications..
Multimedia. I also did some audio manipulation in Digital Media or sometimes called Electronic Imaging - but I would say more like multimedia.
