Hi,I have come to UK as a student..the college that was I about to attend is completely bogus..Now i want?

Hi,I came to UK with admission in London College of Accountancy for doing MBA.They never disclosed that they are just a tution provider for Edinburgh Business School. Now,I want to ditch that college and go for an actual University.Would prefer South bank Uni,but they demand half of the total fees when you get admission, which is something like £4,000.I am a student over here and haven't been in the country for more than 6 months,so loan from the bank is totally out of question.I have exhausted every possible resource, but haven't got anything. Can someone help me in tracking some funds for my education,or give me any idea as to where i should look for them, the options and all ?..please help me out ASAP.Would be really thank ful to you..

Answers:
Get a part time job to fit in with the hours at the Uni.
Do what the rest of us do and work for it!
speak to the uni u want to attend, the shud hav a finance department which can give u all the possible ways in which u might be able to get help with tuition fees
Wish I could help..Maybe the CAB they usually are very helpful. Good luck !!!
thats a major problem, have you tried getting a loan from whatever country you came from? Maybe your best option would be to get a job for 12 months and save up the money to start next year. Good luck
Well how could you be so stupid in the first place. Did you not check out this so called college in the first place? I have heard these kind of stories all over Europe about these so called bogus colleges offering MBA degrees etc. Have you contacted New Scotland yard about this? or anyone at the Department of Education in London? Try the local education authority in London they might be of some assistants to you.
Get a job. It's bad enough that our own students expect handouts and think that everybody owes them a living.
Oh no, I forgot, we like giving away money to the world and his wife.
Speak to Tony Blair. I'm sure he'll give you a ton of cash and a house for the duration of your stay.
should have done your homework better shouldnt you!? the only advice i can give you is to go back home.i assume you are here on a student visa..check with the immagration office before you do anything else..why? because its no good you starting a course only to find a) that your visa has run out..or b) you are part way through your course and find yourself being deported..
YOU CONNING BAR STUD
YOU CAN JUST FLU CK OFF BACK FROM HOME.
YOU MUST THINK WE ARE ALL FLUCKING STUPID. TELL US WHERE YOU LIVE AND WE WILL HELP YOU, WE WILL SEND YOU ON A COURSE ALRIGHT.
"MAVERICK" WAS A CON MAN, CHEAT, THIEF, DOES THAT RING ANY BELLS.
It's difficult to get this sort of advice as a foreigner. For example, if that had happened to me, I'd have been able to speak to my school for advice. You obviously can't do that.
The question is, has the Business School you applied for missold you the course? Then you should try Citizens Advice Bureau.
I do think that you could speak to South Bank (where you want to go) again about possible solutions.

Otherwise you could try writing to the Times Higher Educational Supplement (TES or THES) or the Guardian Education Section to ask for advice. They often have a letters page.
You could also try Connexions who help 13-19 and have advisors. Finally another good one might be Learn Direct who could help and advise.
Why don't you bugger-off back to where you came from?
Wow. This is quite a dilemma. Not something normal that I've heard of in quite some time. First of all, see if there's a way to get at least some of your money back from the university. Most colleges have some sort of small refund policy, check and see. Second, perhaps somebody you know may be able to wire you money here in the states to assist you for the time being. If you can't get your money back from the initial college and you don't have anymore to attend the one you wish to go to, you may have to apply for a temporary visa to stay in Britain and work. In order to get more money to attend the university you want or to come home. Other than that, I'm sorry I can't be of more assistance to you. Good luck to you.
if you live here you must surely have money to pay rent/food?? i suppose you live in london if you want to go to south bank university. as for working you are probably to allowed to work as you came here with a sudent visa? you paid for a course try to get your money back
get a job
I've worked for colleges all my adult life, although I have not done so recently, but we used to have students from overseas all the time, and I'm sure the college gets an Oversea's Student Grant. Unfortunately, this may not apply, being a University.

Check with their information centre, if they have one, and they should be able to help you.

Hope I've been helpful.
Get a job or GO HOME
you have been con big time and never no a uni 2 ask 4 half the fees up front, gud luck 4 the future
