How many pages does google search?

I used to think it was 8 bilion but while recently searching on google for "a" it found over 24 bilion pages with "a" in it.

Answers:
Wellll.I tried searching for 'www', and got 23,470,000,000 pages. Then I put in just 'w' and got only 3,290,000,000 pages.

Go figure.

I guess it all depends on how the search engine works. Maybe there's a way to ask Google about this. Just a few years back it was around one billion, then it soon went up to 3, then 8.

Actually, although 'e' is the most commonly-used letter in the English language, you get more results for 'a'.

in my knowledge it depends upon your question how easy or difficult it is
Is there 24 billion pages?
Last time I checked it was up to nearly 26 billion.
