Has anyone out there had any books published as a result of taking the writers bureau course?

Answers:
I was talking to a published children's writer about this course as I have looked at it myself. I want to write for children and a lot of the modules aren't suited to this, but more towards journalism. They are more interested in helping you write articles for obscure magazines than getting a book published as you will get paid for it so you can't claim your fees back. However, if they aren't pushing you to get a novel or non fiction book published, your not acheiving anything. Being in some obscure magazine isn't going to get your name out there. Sorry to be so negative. I decided to give it a miss.

I would give it a miss if I were you.

There are good creative wrting courses at night schools and day schools at local universities, colleges and schools.

A lot of good authors just sit down and write, if the content is good, the publisher will see to the grammar, spelling and changes needed before publication.

It's more to do with time management and inspiration.

Good luck.
