Where, in Scotland, can my son gain a qualification to teach?

My son wishes to teach (Italian & possibly French). In higher education, he only has Advanced higher Italian (C pass) and Higher French (B pass). Try as he may, he just cant manage to gain higher English yet he is very motivated and has excellent communication skills, both required in this profession.
I would appreciate any help.

Scotland has the same rules over uni entries that you have obviously discovered in other countries. He has to have Higher English to be considered for any of the university courses I've heard of, whether it's the B. Ed 4 year teaching course or a degree course expanding languages but he needs a good English pass to get in the door. Having done a degree course in languages, he could qualify with a post-grad course in teaching, but my understanding is he won't be considered anywhere without his Higher English. Sorry:(
