Is Economics a good choice for college students who don't like to take pre-med courses?

Answers:
business and econmoics is always a good choice for anyone. Even if you dont' end up starting your own business, you learn things most normal people should no anyways, and will always be helpful in life.

You gotta be willing to deal with theories and rules, and a little bit of numbers.
No, if you are pre med then just take the pre med courses and get it over with. Economics and pre med courses are two very different types of classes. If you don't like the pre med courses, you might consider changing your major.
Just as long as you know, floaters don't make it through Economics.
One person should be really interested in Economics before you join the course, not to avoid pre-med course. Please read some elementary books on economics before you join and ensure that it suits your taste/ambition
Depends on what a good choice is. One that will give you a better chance of making money in the future? Take the course that interests you - whether that's philosophy, economics, art history, or management. Only once in your life can you spend three or more years sitting around studying these things, but there's a lifetime of learning about business and economics ahead.
Not only medics make money. In fact in the Uk many don't, compared to those in business.

If you mean pyaback as in will it affect your chances of getting a med place, then doh, YES- you will be competing against people with perfect pre-med grades. If you want to go on to med, go for pre-med.

In general, the definition of a good choice is something you are good at and will pass, enabling you to do a job you are good at and can have a career in.
Economics is a subject that many claim that it is boring. It can be very theoretical. You will deal with models that are unrealistic, because the real economy is very complicated.
Although elementary economics may be very rational and easy to understand, the more advanced economics are not so logical to interpret. Also if you are good in maths that it is an advantage especially if you are doing a bachelor of science and not of arts.
The above are the disadvantages.

The advantages is that you develop a new way of thinking. You can do your masters degree in any business subject, such as finance, management, accounting..
You may continue studying economics in a more advanced level, and also any subject in the social sciences you wish!

Economics has a lot of different branches such as Development Economics, Growth Economics, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Industrial Organization, Economics of Regulation, Economics of Crime, Business Economics, Financial Economics, Public Economics, and the list goes on and on and on! You could specialize in any one of them in the future.
It is a major that is considered a very flexible both in terms of future education and employment.
