Please help me with these maths questions?
27 to the power of 2/3
(3/2) to the power of -2
Answers:
27^2/3=(27^1/3)^2
27^1/3=3
3^2=9 so 27^2/3=9
(3/2)^(-2)=1/(3/2)^2
1/(3/2)^2=1/(9/4)=4/9
And yes, these are the correct answers, and you can see how to do them by following my steps.
Remember that x to the minus 2 is one over x squared.
Also, X to the one third power is the cube root of x. To the two thirds power, take the cube root and square it.
27 to the power of 2/3 = 9
(3/2) to the power of -2 = 4/9

1 over 3/2 to the power of 2
YES i'm WRONG. I don't kone what has got into me lately.
I got it wrong because i divided 27 by 3 instead of cube rooting it. Oh well.

According to excel, however I have not the faintest idea if these are right!!
And as there are three entirely different answers I am not sure anyone knows.
1 answer = 24
2 answer = -1
i dunno but stop been lazy and work it out your self!
27 to the power of 2/3=
the cube root of 27 which is 3 and then square 3 which equals 9
(3/2) to the power of -2=
2/3 squared so that is 4/9
in a fractional power u power the numerator and root the denominator
so 27 to the power of 2/3 is worked as follows
27 root 3 = 3 then squared = 9
a negative power becomes positive by turning the number it is powered by the other way round.
so 3/2 to the power of -2 is
2/3 to the power of 2 = 4/9
27^(2/3) = 27 cube rooted, then squared = 3^2 = 9
(3/2)^-2 = reciprocal of the square of 3/2 = 4/9
