You do not say what age the children are. However, you could keep a weather chart over the week:
Measure rainfall
measure cloud cover
Wind direction
Wind strength
Temperature
Describe the seasons and what the weather is like in each one.
For older children, give them a topic to research, for example thunderstorms, snow, hurricanes and so on.
Get them to find out what isobars, isotherms and so on are.
Divide the children up and get them to find out what the weather is in different parts of the world on a certain day or week.
find out what the shipping forecast on Radio 4 is going on about, and where the places are.
