Iam a Town planning student need your help..?
hi,being a townplanner i need a detailed map of every city in india(its kind of physical map not satilite view like google earth kind of thing.) plz help me out for this i dint get any notice on my search...

No way! You sound way too much like a terrorist for Al Qaida getting ready to leap like a wolf on India! So you're done with Afghanistan, Europe and USA for now, thought you'd go for a round or two on India? You don't need EVERY map of towns or cities in India for a stupid class, no way. An exercise in a college class even would only require one or two maps of cities and they would only care that you paid attention to details presented in the course thus far. Nobody fall for this.
google maps does both sattelite, map, or hybrid options, and its global, the resolution detail is phenomenal.. i can clearly see the car parked in my drive. its also a little scary.
zoom out for the whole world. centre and zoom in..
and for teh scardy cat paranoids, teh maps are at least 6 years old..but i still cant find area 51.

Try the Indian equivalent of the British Ordnance Survey!
To get and idea about your town in India - just write to the Survey of India, Dehradun, Uttaranchal, and they will send you the map from their publications division.
You can do a search for the Survey of India on the net and you will be able to get their exact addresses etc.
Furthermore after getting the map - you can get a very detailed and good photo arial view from Google Maps - and you will be on the way. In case you are studying Town Planning - you may go to the Municipal Commissioners office and get the guidelines regarding the 'Land Use" like commercial, residential. nazul. etc.
The office of the local land development authority will provide you with the latest land usage map for you city including details such as Road width, Proposed Set Back areas of plots from the road, permissable covered area of the plots. The water deptt will give you the water connection layout of the area, The Electricity department will give you the existing and proposed layout of the electricity wiring of the area as well as the layout of the high tension wires entering the city and their mapping.
Agricultural Land will have to be always kept in mind while planning any map for the town.
