What are the key features of a coastal sediment cell?

Answers:
SEDIMENT CELL: In the context of a strategic approach to COASTAL MANAGEMENT, a length of COASTLINE in which interruptions to the movement of SAND or SHINGLE along the beaches or NEARSHORE sea bed do not significantly affect beaches in the adjacent lengths of COASTLINE.
I just aced Oceanography and I could probably answer any other question for you, but we didn't go over this. I would have to say depends on what kind of coast seeing that sediment varies from coast to coast. If it is a beach then then sediment will be much finer and less coarse. If it is from a rocky coast, obviously the sediment is much coarser. Hope this helps a little bit. You are welcome to look at all of my notes online at the link below.
