Why is it that when you ask a question,you always get someone who just makes fun and answers stupidly?
does that get on anyones nerves,when you ask a question,there is always somebody that would do anything to gain points as though they have nothing better to do,you know! i simply came on here to give and ask for advice and now in the future i think ill just still to answering cos what i got before was someone calling me fatso,let me just say that im a size 10 and never before have i been called that,i infact go the gym and running round after my 2 children all the time which is great fun and a good way of keeping in shape,not that i have to explain myself to them bullies out there who probably infact used to sit at the back of the classroom themselves,,,,,,doesnt it annoy you?

i answer funny questions with funny answers (i think), and try to answer serious questions properly. a couple of ideas, see below. just need to find out how to get yahoo to agree.

People think they are funny. Problem is, not many of them are. If I ask a serious question, I hate when people answer stupid things.

Actually, they're STILL sitting at the back of the classroom. Those annoying little twits who leave those comments, on average, are about 13 years old. What I hate just as much is when I post a question and someone hops on and royally chews me out for asking when, clearly, if they'd read the question they would have known I was not being derrogative. (I'd asked if it was normal for a 5 month old to only weigh 12 lbs and stated that there was NO abuse going on, I was just curious and I got royally chewed out by 2 different little snobs on their high horses about how I "just want to gossip" and I should leave the poor mother alone). I think when they only halfway read the question and then use the chance to preach on their soapbox is even more disgusting because they SOOOO didn't deserve the 2 points. Oh, and size 10 is so NOT FAT! Jerks. LOL!
If an answer offends you, give it a "thumbs down" - then you don't have to look at it.

I think there should be a feature in answers that people who are making pointless remarks can be banned.

Yes, that sort of behavior does annoy me. My first time asking a question, I got five or six answers.and only one of them was of any use to me. I reported all the others as abusing their privileges.
Some questions are intended to be funny, and as someone else noted, you can answer those humorously. But to be rude or flippant when someone honestly needs a bit of advice is completely out of order. Which is why I rate answers liberally!

it is one of my pet hates and i think we should all petition yahoo to have these people banned from YA on a 3 strikes system,
i think they go looking for questions that maybe the asker has omitted to put something in by accident and that is where they start their nonsense.
but the way i look at it is, that they must have a very sad and lonely life if they have to scour YA looking ofr something to put an idiotic answer to.

Remember that Yahoo! Answers is also a safety valve for folks who may have had a rough day. Or for people who are not all that happy with their personal lives and need some spot to take a whack at just to get some relief for a few minutes. It's only human. Nobody like to be on the receiving end of stuff. Everyone is not living a vision of sweetness and light. Some people have it very hard during the day. They work their tailfeathers off every week just to break even, if even that, so given a chance to let off a little bit of steam, can you really blame them if they do it now and then? I know it is annoying, and yes, it is not really right, but you can recognize that kind of answer very quickly. If it comes at you in real life with a real person behind it, it can catch you completely off guard, so if insults we must have, let them be here because we can click and be somewhere else.
