Why do we always say Bits and Bobs and not bobs and bits?

Ok I know they are stupid questions!

Answers:
Because you put the reins on a horse before you ride it.
I think it just sounds better that way
for the same reason we say odds and sods and not sods and odds it doesn`t sound right.
What is a bob anyway?
Cos if you bob first, then you're too low to see the bits.
Because it's in alphabetical order.
(And it sounds better.)
That is the way it is said. It is like saying "odds and ends".
I never heard that expression. It's kind of cute.
you must be British, across the pond we say kibbles & bits
They keep meaning to change that but little bits and bobs keep getting in the way and so it stays the same.
