What are the exceptions to this rule?

The english language is not DEFICIENT in exeptions to this rule - much more than EIGHT. So BEING EFFICIENT with my answer I will FORFEIT my LEISURE. The rule is 'i' before 'e' except after 'c', unless it makes the sound 'a-e' as in neighbor and weigh. However there are many other exceptions. If it makes the 'ee' sound it starts with 'e' and it it makes the 'i-e' sound it starts with 'i'. Also the word weird- but I just remember WE are weird to help remember that it is e before i. Either memorize the words you need to know, or use a dictionary or spell check to correct the words.
I before e except after c or when sounded like a as in neighbor and weigh.
i think it's d.
