Good material for a maths class?

Hi. I'm 15, and my teacher has set up a system this year whereby each student in the higher level nmaths class needs to devise a class, set homework, correct it, etc. My class will be in a week or so. I don't know what to teach! It has to be something interesting but useful in some way. Any ideas?

Teach them calculus.

Algebra?
Adding?
Something useful for GCSES

Teach them sonething like adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing monomials. Maybe try something from an Algebra I book. Something easy but just hard enough to get you a good grade.
Do work involving circles. Working out diameters area etc but tie the questions into working out real problems. ie distance travelled by a cycle wheel after 353 revolutions. How many times a pedal turns to make a cycle travel 36 Km. You get the idea.
I had a similar challenge in math some 40 years ago when I was 15.

I chose to talk about the meaning of infinity. This can be an interesting topic for any level of math.

Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/infinity. for a good overview of the subject.

End the lesson by discussion how some infinities can and are larger than others. You'll probably teach your math teacher a thing or two and they will think you are brilliant!

Good luck
Sounds like your teacher is a lazy s*d. Tell him to do what he's paid for and design and teach his own bl**dy lessons
when facing this sort of challenge, to try and do a revision lesson rather than something brand new. i would suggest angles of circles, with sin, cos, tan etc. or trying something like number series, or you always have the firm favourite of simultaneous equations. try presenting it in a new way, by doing a powerpoint presentation of it with cool colours and graphics. your class mates should love it!! make sure theres a funny picture (perhaps a relevant one!) on each slide
