What are the benefits, if any, of introducting the top-up fees?
Answers:
not that i agree with them,.. but maybe it will encourage students to take their studies more seriosly. i wouldn't miss lectures and hand in half-hearted assignments if i was aying so much for them - i'd want to get my moneys worth and make the most of the opportunity.
Depends what your topping up?
supposdaly better funded departments, better equipment. But this is all BS.
1)Industry should be helping out with courses and getting the graduates they need learning the mot appropriate skills,
2)The scottish dont have to pay fees!!!
Can't see any benefits. It's supposedly because the universitys need more money, yet this is the first term its been introduced and my uni could afford to put new projection/video equipment in every lecture room over the summer holidays. Why do they need more money?
it gives universities more money to pay staff, buy equipment and pay for the up keep of the buildings.
However for students the debt after uni will rise from £22,000 TO £33,000. combine this with high house prices and low wages and threes going to be problems for the economy in the long run.
another way to get money out of the taxpayer!
to make the universities even richer than they are now
they only want to get even more money out of us poor students
Yes it is better. You dont have to worry about additional costs
